Confluence Fiber Communications — Next-Gen Wireless Launches for Lewiston While Building for a Community-Owned Fiber Future

LEWISTON, ID — Confluence Fiber Communications (Confluencefiber.org), a local nonprofit, announced today that it has finalized an agreement with the Port of Lewiston to lease dark fiber infrastructure and has started customer installations. By pairing the leased dark fiber assets with advanced fixed wireless technology, Confluence Fiber is delivering dependable, high-speed internet to Lewiston homes and businesses immediately, while laying the groundwork for a phased, citywide fiber-to-the-home network. High-speed internet is vital to Lewiston's economic vitality, modern remote work, digital education, telehealth access, and small business operations.

Importantly, this network expansion requires zero local tax dollars. Confluence Fiber will finance network expansion through revenue bonds repaid with subscriber revenue. By utilizing existing infrastructure, the organization supports a financially sustainable model while advancing the development of a permanent, community-owned fiber network.

"Reliable Internet access is essential to our community," said Travis Myklebust, Confluence Fiber Board President. "By combining next-generation wireless service with strategic use of existing fiber assets, we can begin connecting people now while building toward a reliable, expandable, community-owned resource for the future. This project is about creating a stronger, better-connected Lewiston."

Confluence Fiber is inviting residents to join its Founders Club — a limited early-adopter program designed to reward the community members who make this network possible. Founders Club members receive up to 500 Mbps download and up to 100 Mbps upload speeds starting at $50/month, with free installation, a free router, locked-in founder pricing, priority access to future technology upgrades and Lewiston-based customer support. Fixed wireless service will roll out in phases across Lewiston. Residents are encouraged to visit Confluencefiber.org to submit their address and join the Founders Club. Once an address is submitted, Confluence Fiber will reach out directly when service becomes available in that area.
